Object description [Source - Nothando Shabalala for FHYA, 2023: 1 necklace : material: thread, glass (beads) ; technique: weaving, beadwork ; colour: natural (brown), beads - white/indigo blue/pink/blue/pearly grey/maroon-on-white (translucent), button - mother of pearl ; semi-circular (Note: the colours are those typical of the Msinga region, the collar is still intact although some parts are broken) ; dimensions: 33cm (L) x 8.5cm (W)]

Linda Waldman accessioned this material. She worked as a research technician for the Natal Government Museum between 1989 and 1991.
