Scope and Content

[Source - Henry Fagan for FHYA, 2022: A copy of the book by G.M. Theal. The book is composed of what Theal described as folk-lore and legends. Theal collected these from unnamed interlocutors himself, predominantly elder women, although the stories were told by and also copied down by Africans. The stories were also subjected to revision by 'a circle of natives' numbering 'ten or twelve'. Theal claims that his role was to direct the creation of the book.]
