[Source - Henry Fagan for FHYA, 2022: A copy of the book by John Campbell. The book recounts the life of Africaner, a 'hottentot' born in the Colony of Good Hope. In the course of a violent confrontation with his employer, Africaner and his family fled to the Namaqualand region, where they became raiders. Africaner later converted to Christianity and became an ally of the British following their takeover of the Cape Colony.]
