Archival History

[Source - Henry Fagan for FHYA, 2021: Edited by G. Cory between 1922 and 1926 drawing on F. Owen's Diary written in 1837 and 1838, along with accounts written by interpreters Richard Hulley and Joseph Kirman in 1838. Cory had acquired Owen's Diary in 1922 and having recognised its historical significance, approached the Van Riebeeck Society to have it published. It was published by the Van Riebeeck Society in 1926. A physical copy entered the custody of University of Cape Town Libraries at an unknown date. Loaned and digitised by FHYA in 2020.
