[Source - Benathi Marufu for FHYA, 2026, using material from the IsiXhosa Intellectual Traditions Digital Archive (IsiXIT): This converted text file of 'Imvo Zabantsundu, September 30, 1885' was made by the IsiXhosa Intellectual Traditions (IsiXIT) Project. IsiXIT is a UCT project that began in 2019. The project focuses on digitising, archiving, preserving, and researching early IsiXhosa texts, (particularly newspapers and books from the 1800s and early 1900) through the creation of high-quality digital editions. These texts are converted from images and carefully edited and quality-checked by a team of IsiXhosa experts to ensure accurate spelling and faithful reproduction of the original page layouts. IsiXIT has successfully released 'research ready' downloadable text files of Imvo Zabantsundu editions from 1884 - 1898 on UCT's Ibali platform.
