Attributions and conjectures [Source - Chloe Rushovich for FHYA, 2020, using materials provided by Gavin Whitelaw: Oliver Davies was granted a permit, per/1/45 for reconnaissance work in KwaZulu Natal and East Griqualand on the 30 March 1977. This permit lapsed 31 March 1980. In 1981 Davies was granted a further permit with the same name, per/1/45, for "general archaeological excavation permit for KwaZulu, Natal and Griqualand East". This permit was granted 17 December 1981, and lapsed 1 January 1985. This permit is related to further permits obtained by Davies, all under the same permit number.]
