Attributions and conjectures [Source - Chloe Rushovich for FHYA, 2018, using information provided by Gavin Whitelaw: Illustration of what appears to be a schematic representation of where Rob Rawlinson planned to excavate, or where he did excavate, in the reconstructed part of the uMgungundlovu site, the isigodlo. As this illustration is, at least in part, computer generated, it was probably created later than the late 1980s which was when Rawlinson excavated in the area. Gavin Whitelaw suggests that word 'pit' seems to be an alternate term for 'long trench', and that Rawlinson worked only in the area demarcated by 50x50 metre blocks M7, L7, M6, L6, M5 in the uMgungundlovu site.]
