van Schalkwyk 1995

Scope and Content

[Source - Michelle House for FHYA 2020, using Amafa accession record and conversations with Gavin Whitelaw: Whilst Gavin Whitelaw was surveying kwaBulawayo, Len van Schalkwyk conducted a small excavation in an area which had not been disrupted by ploughing. This midden material had been caught in some rocks, preserving the context of material to some degree. Although the KZNM PastPerfect database records that sherds, glass and brass beads, ear plugs and bone were recovered in excavation, only pottery and bone are housed at Amafa. The glass and brass beads and ear plugs are missing.]
