[Source - Debra Pryor for FHYA, 2023: Where the FHYA has been unable to obtain a digital copy of a press article, such as when institutions withhold open access to digital copies, FHYA inserts a placeholder for the absent or withheld item. The placeholder signals the article's existence in the physical archive /public domain, and acts as a proposal for its future inclusion in the digital archive. By the nature of their medium, copies of newspapers exist in multiple institutions as well as in personal collections. In certain instances, these institutions provide copies for personal use, from which typescripts (e-dexes) can be made. These do not purport to be faithful copies of the originals so ideally; we encourage institutions to allow us to upload copies of the digitized articles for the researcher's own scrutiny/enquiry.]
