Additional information [Source - Chloe Rushovich for FHYA, 2020, transcription of KwaZulu-Natal Museum database extracts: Justine Wintjes 27/08/2019: The link to Franz Mayr is through the illustration in the 1907 Annals article (see refs), depicting Object 45H (Fig. 4). Mayr isn't recorded as the source for Accession no. 45 in the Accessions Register but it is plausible he published items he had collected himself, and may by extension have been the source of the entire set (45A-H). This Accession was written into the Accession Register by Fitzsimons in c.1904, when the museum was officially opened, but it is noted as having been received in 1898. This Accession has been selected as part of the Mayr series by the Five-Hundred Year Archive. Accession]
