History
[Source - Nessa Leibhammer for FHYA, 2018, using the website ezakwantu.com (no longer operational): Ken Karner was born in America. For over 30 years he has lived in Africa and travelled extensively in the Central African regions where he collected African art. Originally operating as a dealer selling to galleries locally and abroad he established a Franschoek-based shop called Galerie Ezakwantu as well as an online gallery of the same name. The online site offered extensive information on the 'culture and tribal dress of the native people of Africa, particularly Southern Africa'. Karner also featured his own opinions on African history, publications and personalities on the site. Neither the shop nor the online site are currently operational.]
