Written following Casalis' return from his evangelical fieldwork in what is now Lesotho, the book was published during the wars between the Basotho and the Republic of the Orange Free State. It advocated for the independence of the Basotho of Moshoeshoe.
[Source - Henry Fagan for FHYA, 2021: Written by Eugène Casalis sometime between 1833 and 1859. It was published by Librairie de Ch. Meyrueis et Cie in 1859. A copy was acquired by Smithsonian Libraries on 9 November 1988. It was digitised by Smithsonian Libraries in 2013 and made available via Internet Archive. Downloaded by FHYA in 2020 and uploaded by Benathi Marufu for FHYA in 2020.]
